Navigating Fate & Friction
Understanding the Karma of Difficult Placements and Life Cycles
8 Week Lumen Arcana
Summer Intensive
What is Navigating Fate & Friction?
Course Description

Life rarely unfolds without challenge. Certain patterns repeat, relationships test us, and particular periods of time feel heavier than others. Astrology has long recognized that these experiences are not random. Difficult placements and challenging cycles often mark the places where life presses most strongly on the soul.

Navigating Fate & Friction is an 8-week journey into the deeper meaning of struggle in the birth chart. Rather than treating difficult placements as problems to fear or avoid, this course explores how they reveal the developmental pressures shaping maturity, courage, and awareness.

Through the lens of traditional astrology, students will explore the planetary forces most closely associated with life’s challenges, particularly the Moon, Saturn, and Mars, and the arenas of life where friction most often appears. Alongside astrological interpretation, tarot will be used as a reflective tool to help illuminate the emotional and psychological dimensions of these experiences.

By the end of the course, students will understand how to interpret difficult placements and timing not as misfortune, but as meaningful patterns within the unfolding story of a life.

Philosophy Behind The Course
The Philosophy Behind the Course

Astrology does not promise a life free of difficulty. Instead, it reveals the patterns through which we encounter growth.

Certain placements describe where life applies pressure. These moments of friction, whether emotional, relational, or circumstantial, often become the places where the deepest maturation occurs.

Navigating Fate & Friction offers a framework for understanding these pressures, helping students see difficult placements not as flaws in the chart, but as the forces shaping the evolution of the soul.
